Defeat for Swans as Holt crowned Champions

Holt United completed their relentless pursuit of The Jewson Dorset Premier League Title with a comprehensive 7-2 win against the Swans in the last game of the season for both clubs at Petersham Lane.

The Bulls produced the perfect start when the league’s leading scorer Ali Garard converted a first-minute penalty, then with only 15 minutes on the clock he converted his second spot kick to put the home side firmly in the driving seat. Holt were in the ascendancy and on 18 minutes Scott Bungay burst through the middle to cooly finish for the third. The Swans managed a couple of long-range shots from Charlie Brassington, then Ocean Smith was denied with a good save by Holt keeper, Chris Lynch, when clean through. Holt applied the pressure and Connor Bent added number 4, beating two defenders and leaving Swans keeper Taylor Hibbs helpless with a good finish.

The Swans had better possession than the first half but were unable to stop the Bulls adding a further 3 goals from Dan Bradford, Corey Elwick and Ben Sullivan. The Swans scored two goals in the last 5 minutes through Charlie Brassington following good work from Abraham Adesoji and Ocean smith to add some respectability to the scoreline.

Congratulations to Holt United, The Jewson Dorset Premier League 2022-23 Champions.
