Death of man, 29, in Christchurch was ‘not suspicious’, say police

A MAN arrested in connection with the death of a man in Christchurch has been released without charge.

Dorset Police were probing the ‘sudden death’ of a 29-year-old at a property in Druitt Road, which was reported at 2.06pm on Saturday, July 29.

Now, following a post-mortem examination and enquiries by the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A 29-year-old Christchurch man, who was known to the man who died, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has now been released without charge and will face no further police action in relation to the offence.

Detective Inspector Neil Third, of the MCIT, said: “First and foremost, our thoughts remain with the family of the man who sadly died and they have been updated with this latest development.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and our enquiries are continuing on behalf of HM Coroner for Dorset.”
