A CYCLIST suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Poole.

The incident, in Dorchester Road at the junction with Ringwood Road, happened at around 4.55pm on Thursday evening (March 21).

A man in his 20s, who was riding a bicycle, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash, which involved a black Hyundai Santa Fe.

PC Joshua Alner, of Dorset Police’s Roads Policing Team, said: “This collision occurred at a busy time of day and I would ask any witnesses who saw what happened and have not already spoken to officers to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
