Cyclist aged in 60s suffers serious injuries in Poole crash

POLICE are searching for a delivery moped rider and other witnesses after a cyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash in Poole.

The incident occurred at around 4.50pm on Thursday, February 26, on Blandford Road near the junction with Norton Way. The crash involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a bicycle.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the cyclist aged in his 60s was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life‑changing or life‑threatening.

PC Mike Wells, of the Roads Policing Team, said they were continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and are seeking witnesses, as well as anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.

He added: “In particular, from our enquiries we understand there was a man approaching the Carters Quay bus stop at the time of the collision wearing a navy jacket, dark-coloured trousers, baseball cap and rucksack and carrying a white shopping bag.

“Similarly, there was a delivery rider on a moped in the area at the time.

“I am keen to identify these individuals as they are potential witnesses to the collision and may be able to assist our investigation.”
