A FUN run with a Caribbean flavour will raise much-needed funds for good causes.
Wimborne Rotary has organised the Caribbean Fun Run in conjunction with sponsors Purbeck Ice Cream and Lester Brunt.
The run will take place on Sunday, June 25, with runners assembling at Wimborne Town Football Club for a 10am start, taking on either a 2.5km or 5km route alongside the river Stour.
Adding a touch of the Caribbean will be the Purple Parrots Steel Band and every entrant will receive a Purbeck ice-cream and certificate on completing the run.
Entry fees – £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s – will raise funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and other Rotary charities, and runners can pre-book at www.wimbornerotary.org/giving.
Organiser, Rotarian Neil Hutchinson, said: “Traditionally we have organised an event for runners at Christmas each year, but we thought they might appreciate the chance to run in warmer weather.
“To add a Caribbean flavour to this fun event, we will have a steel band playing and free ice creams for every runner. With entry fees helping charities we want to hear from runners keen to support this run.”
