Biker seriously injured in Wareham crash

A BIKER suffered “life-changing” injuries in a crash in Wareham yesterday (Sunday, May 12).

The incident, at around 4.50pm, happened on the A351 Wareham bypass near the junction with the A352 Worgret Road.

It involved a grey Ford C-Max and a black Triumph motorcycle and the rider of the bike, a man in his 50s from Poole – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries that are described as life-changing.

The Ford driver sustained minor injuries.

Road closures were in place while emergency services safely dealt with the incident and carried out an examination of the scene. They were lifted at around 7.30pm.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the traffic unit, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and am keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
