A DRUNK woman who reportedly assaulted an emergency worker in Dorchester at the weekend was arrested.
Officers who were on foot patrol in the town centre on Sunday (August 24) encountered a man and woman who were “acting in an anti-social manner” in Bowling Alley Walk, the force said.
Open alcohol in the pair’s possession were disposed of by officers and they were asked to leave the area.
The force said that while the man listened to the advice, the woman did not and was then issued with a formal dispersal order and directed to leave the area for eight hours.

She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and for breaching the dispersal order.
The woman then reportedly assaulted an emergency worker while she was restrained on the floor and was subsequently arrested.
“A 44 year-old local female has since been charged for all three offences and will be attending court in due course,” a Dorchester Police spokesperson said.
“Many thanks to the members of public who offered their assistance to the single crewed officer whilst they were awaiting a cell van to convey the female to custody.”
