OFFICERS from the Bournemouth North West team have secured a criminal behaviour order (CBO) for a prolific shoplifter.
The shoplifter, aged in his 30s and from Bournemouth, was handed the order following seven theft offences committed during October and November 2025 at the Co Op in Kinson Road, Londis in Canford Avenue and Costcutter in Cunningham Crescent.
He was also found to be in breaches of an exclusion order, which had been issued in August 2025 and included conditions to not enter any Co Op or Costcutter store in Dorset.
The new CBO will last for two years and imposes the following conditions:
1) Must not enter any Tk Maxx within Dorset, either in opening or closed hours
2) Must not enter any Co Op within Dorset, either in opening or closed hours
3) Must not enter any Tesco within Dorset, either in opening or closed hours
4) Must not enter any Central Convenience Store (Costcutter) within Dorset, either in opening or closed hours
5) Must not enter Turbary Park Retail centre in Ringwood Road, Bournemouth, including the carpark
6) Not to enter any store/business premises you have received a banning notice from
7) Not to remain on any business / shop premises when requested to leave by an employee, security staff or other representative of the company
PC Alicia Roe said: “This man is a prolific shoplifter who has targeted a number of shops in the area, and we have worked hard to obtain a CBO for him.
“This order will give police more powers to deal with him and ensure the town remains a safe and pleasant place to visit for residents and visitors.
“I hope this also sends out a message that we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and we will actively work to bring offenders to justice.”
