A MAN from Dorchester was taken to hospital following a car park assault involving a screwdriver.
The incident occurred between 10am and 11am yesterday (Monday, February 16) in Bridport Road near to the junction with Hawthorne Road.
It is reported that a local man aged in his 30s was assaulted by a man with a screwdriver.
The victim was treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.
A 45-year-old man from Dorchester has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody currently.
Det Sgt Ben Turner of Dorset County CID said: “I understand that members of the public were in the area and intervened in the incident and I am asking them to please come forward.
“I am also keen to speak with anyone else who may have information or relevant footage to assist our investigation.”
