Arrests made after crash leaves man in life-threatening condition

POLICE are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses to a serious collusion in Poole that has left a man aged in his 40s in a life-threatening condition.

Officers were called to Canford Heath Road, near to Plantation Road junction, at 11.22pm yesterday (December 15) following a collision between a black Ford Ranger and a silver Volkswagen Golf.

Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place.

A passenger from the Golf, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with injuries thought to be life-threatening. His next of kin is aware.

The driver of the Golf, a man aged in his 30s, was also taken to hospital for injuries not believed to be serious. He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

The driver of the Ford, a Poole man aged in his 40s, was also arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He remains in police custody.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the roads policing team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, as well as any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage, to please make contact with us.”
