Your chance to see thriller flick – filmed in Purbeck – at Purbeck Film Festival

THE highly anticipated Purbeck Film Festival kicks off tomorrow (October 17) – and a filmmaker will be taking your questions as part of the event.

The festival will begin with a gala screening of Memory Lane, ahead of one of its most anticipated events — the Dorset-filmed thriller Die Before You Die at Durlston Castle, featuring special guests director Dan Pringle and actors Laurent Lucas and Ziad Abaza.

The film follows a desperate influencer’s daring buried alive stunt and was praised by The Guardian as a “claustrophobic thriller,” which was shot on location across Purbeck.

Pringle said: “Die Before You Die wouldn’t be the same without the uniquely mystical backdrop of Purbeck — it’s great to be back where it all began.”

The film screens on next Tuesday (October 21), with Durlston also hosting a special preview of Ocean with David Attenborough on October 29, followed by a marine-themed Q&A.

Festival organiser Claire Burns said: “We can’t wait to open the festival on Friday and share such a strong line-up, including Die Before You Die — a fantastic local production returning to its roots at Durlston.”

The Purbeck Film Festival runs from tomorrow (October 17) to 2 November, with screenings at more than 30 venues across the region.
