PETROLHEADS will be revved up for the Dorset Blind Association Motor Show, which takes place this weekend.
Lulworth Castle will be the venue for the seventh show, on Sunday, May 21.
The event brings thousands of car fans to the site, raising much-needed funds for the charity – topping £15,000 in 2022.
Sponsored by Blue Sky Financial Planning, the motor show sees owners of classic and supercars, motorbikes and all types of motor vehicles show off their prides and joy.
“In 2022, there were over 200 cars on display, plus club stands from BAD Abarth and Porsche Club GB,” a spokesperson said.
“Over 3,000 members of the general public attended throughout the day, raising awareness and vital funds to help the charity support the blind and partially sighted people across Dorset.”
Gary Neild, from Blue Sky Financial Planning, said: “What an enthusiastic bunch of people. We admire the DBA team for their immense passion for how they can help others live more fulfilling lives.
“While we operate in a different sector, this resonates greatly with us at Blue Sky, as our main emphasis is focused on ‘what we cause and how we make people feel’. A natural partnership, I would say.”
The event gets off the starting line with a 20-mile ‘Dorset Tour’, sponsored by Summit Land and Development, which sees car enthusiasts take to county roads at 10.30am, before returning to the Lulworth estate to join the Castle showground display.
The showground will be open, free of charge, to the general public from 11am, offering a family fun day with live entertainment, kids’ fun area, food stalls and local artisan craft and handmade produce stalls.
