POLICE are investigating after an Audi car was “damaged beyond repair” in a fire believed to have been started deliberately.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after the incident, in Perry Gardens, Poole, at around 5.48pm on Friday, February 13.
“The fire was extinguished and it was reported that the cause of the fire was believed to be deliberate,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
“The vehicle involved – a white Audi A3 – was damaged beyond repair as a result of the incident and a second vehicle parked nearby sustained minor damage.”
PC Harvey Trehane, of Poole police, added: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a man carrying a green jerry can in the areas of Green Road, Whatleigh Close, or South Road between around 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, February 13.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured relevant footage on home CCTV systems, doorbell cameras or dashcam.”
