Residents urged to have say on affordable housing need in Purbeck village

A TWO week consultation is underway to determine the type of homes that area needed in a Purbeck village.

Vies are being sought from households that need affordable housing, those that have had to move away due to shortage of housing or anyone that has a local connection to Langton Matravers.

Outcomes from the survey could support any future planning application from the Langton Matravers Community Land Trust (CLT).

Gill Taylor, cabinet member for health and housing said: “This is the second survey we’ve launched in the Dorset Council area this month and this grassroots feedback will help identify the housing need.

“Anyone who wants to return to the village because of family ties or community roots but can’t because of a lack of affordable housing should complete this survey.

“What we learn can influence future housing decisions and I hope residents won’t miss the opportunity to take part.”

Formed in 2017, to help deliver affordable rental homes for local people, the CLT has identified a potential affordable housing scheme at Capston Field, for up to ten homes.

Complete the survey here or request a printed copy or assistance to complete the survey from the Housing Enabling Team on 01305 252443.

The results of the survey will be shared with residents.
