Motorbike rider, 20s, killed in crash near Dorchester

A MOTORBIKE rider in his 20s sadly died following a crash with a car near Dorchester.

A red Benelli motorbike and a white Vauxhall Corsa crashed in Warmwell Road in Crossways just after 11am on August 23.

The motorbike rider, from Weymouth, was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

The Corsa driver did not sustain any injuries.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.

Sergeant Jon Rowland, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are investigating the circumstances of what happened and would like to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.

“Road closures were put in place while an examination of the scene was carried out and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while they were in place.”
