New MP Lloyd Hatton goes back to school in return to his Dorset roots

NEWLY-elected South Dorset MP Lloyd Hatton went back to school just weeks after starting his new role in the House of Commons.

Labour MP Lloyd returned to Dorset to visit his former schools in Weymouth – All Saints primary and Holy Trinity, where he met with students and teachers.

On the last day of term, he met with teachers, students and governors to discuss successes and challenges at both schools.

And he pledged to be a familiar face at all schools across the constituency, helping young people know who their Member of Parliament is and how they can make sure their voice is heard.

“It was fantastic to pay a visit to Holy Trinity and All Saints, and to bump into one or two of my old teachers,” he said.

“I particularly enjoyed meeting with students and answering their questions. It is crucial that every young person has their voice heard.

“Teachers also raised challenges with me, including the urgent need for more mental health support for young people.

“I am committed to working with the new Labour Government to deliver extra support in every school across South Dorset.

“We will make sure that schools have a mental health specialist dedicated to supporting young people.”
