DORSET potter Dan Sandham has made it to the final of the Great Pottery Throw Down.

The systems engineer, from Weymouth, is one of three remaining contestants on the Channel 4 show.

In tonight’s episode, potters were tasked with creating toilets, repeating a brief given in seasons 2 and 3.

Dan’s moustachioed-basin was the talk of the workshop, with presenter Siobhán McSweeney even donning the look herself.

It earned him the long-awaited ‘potter of the week’ title, an honour that has eluded him all season.

He was the only remaining contestant not to have won it, with Donna scooping up five of the previous eight

For tonight’s challenge, contestants were given a tricky painting task.

They were expected to create a flower design to serve as the centrepiece of a ceramic plate.

But only three of them could make it to the final, and this week it was Steven Broughton, an art and design teacher based in Oxfordshire, who left the show.

The finale will play out next Sunday, seeing Dan, Dave and Donna battle it out for the season 7 crown.
