A ROLEX watch was damaged during an attempted robbery in Poole.
The incident unfolded as the victim left the St Tropez Lounge, in Poole Quay, at around 9.45pm on Friday (July 14).
Police said the man, in his 60s, was approached from behind by another man as he left the venue with a friend.
“The man grabbed a Rolex watch on the victim’s wrist, causing the strap to break and the watch to fall to the ground,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
“The victim was able to recover the watch before the offender made off in direction of Sarum Street in the company off another man, who reportedly appeared to be acting as a lookout.”
Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said officers were now releasing CCTV images of two people they would like to trace in connection with the incident.
“I would urge anyone who recognises these men, or who witnessed the incident on the evening of Friday, July 14, to please contact us,” he added.
“From our enquiries, we believe the two men involved in this incident were reportedly seen acting suspiciously on Poole Quay during the evening and may have approached other members of the public, so it would appear this victim may have been targeted for his high-value watch.
