Biker airlifted to hospital after crash near Bovington

A BIKER was airlifted to hospital after a crash near Bovington.

The incident, involving a BMW motorcycle and a Toyota Hilix, happened at around 11.40am on Wednesday (May 24).

The rider – a man in his 50s from the Weymouth area – sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment. His family are aware. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured.

Police Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of Dorset Police’s Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway and we are appealing for any witnesses, including any Ministry of Defence (MOD) personnel who were working in the area and may have seen what happened, to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone that may have captured the incident, or moments leading up to it, on dashcam footage.”
